Getting There

As far as we are aware flying is the only way to get to Cyprus, other than as part of a cruise. Some years ago there were ferries which carried passengers, but not at present as all the ferry operators have suspended their passenger services to Cyprus.

There are however 30 or so airlines which fly in and out of Cyprus' two commercial airports, Paphos and Larnaca. Both airports are fairly easy to find and served by a number of car rental operators. Picking up a car at the airport is easy, there are no transfers to car hire operators - you just complete the paperwork at one of the rental desks in either airport then walk a short distance to pick up your car in the airport car park.

Larnaca Airport  - This is the biggest of the two airports serving the island, and is approximately 2-3 hours drive away from Polis. It is a modern airport has everything you'd expect at an international airport - lots of shops, somewhere to eat, a business lounge and air conditioning.

Paphos Airport - is the smaller of the two country's airports, but is only 45 minutes drive to Polis. There is a duty free shop, a general store and a cafe. It also air conditioned and has a small business class lounge too.

Most  UK airports offer direct services to Cyprus, especially for charter flights, through a large number of tour operators.  Only the larger UK airports tend to offer schedule flights. Click here to find out about:-
